Yes! Translators will be available in all classes to ensure students fully understand what the English instructor says. This allows students to ask very specific questions in Vietnamese if the instructor cannot fully understand or speak Vietnamese.
Yes! Age groups and English language proficiency will be the dividing factors in all classes. This will ensure the classroom is full of students at the same level, and that no student falls behind or feels bored. At Graham School of English, we want to ensure students feel comfortable by not feeling any class is too easy or too hard.
Before starting classes, all students will be tested on their ability to speak, read, and write by a native English speaker. This will be done by interacting directly with a native English speaker. The native English speaker will also be asked during this session to read a random writing sample and write a short, five-sentence paragraph based on a random subject selected by the native English speaker.
Yes! One-on-one tutoring is available at an additional cost, as the sessions will take place at a student’s home or location of preference. Please keep in mind that these classes are a little more costly as they factor in the costs it takes for the instructor to travel. We apologize in advance because one-on-one classes will not be held in the Graham School of Education building due to the fact that there is limited room for classes scheduled throughout the week.
At Graham School of English, we ensure that our teachers are native English speakers. Please keep in mind that most English-speaking nations are full of various ethnic races and cultures. We ensure our instructors are from one of the following nations: the United States of America or the United Kingdom. (All instructors earned a certification or diploma in TESOL.)
Yes! Regular homework assignments will be given at the end of each class. Although the assignments are not handed in or graded, it is vital for the assignments to be completed to strive towards progression and full comprehension of the lessons. Please keep in mind that there will be examinations periodically to gauge the improvement of the students. These exams are to see where students can improve as they learn to be better communicators in English.
There is no application fee.
The TESOL Diploma course is an advanced teaching certification, graduates of which typically receive more job opportunities with higher pay. This course is perfect for teachers who would like to start strong in their teaching career or those who would like to upgrade their credentials.
This course includes all of the content from the 120-hour certificate course which covers foundational content such as lesson planning and classroom management. It also contains 10 specialization units covering things like teaching online, teaching young learners, and teaching adults. An 8-hour practicum series is also included which provides step-by-step guidance for finding and succeeding at your first teaching job. Content includes video lectures, readings, and activities that you can use in the classroom. Assessments are in the form of quizzes at the end of each week and there is no final exam.
No, you do not need to take the 120-hour certificate course or any other course to register for this course. In fact, it is easier to register for this diploma program directly instead of first completing the 120-hour certificate program.
